It's Vintage!

The thought of old clothes make some people gag. Of course, if we're talking about moth-eaten shoes, I share the same idea.

But in a time where everyone wants to be unique and individual and... blah, blah, blah... you either make it yourself, have someone design you a unique piece or go vintage.

As for vintage shops, there are plenty of rather disgusting ones, but if you find a really good one... let's just say that I'm in heaven and HALLELUUUUUJAH.

More after the JUMP!!!

Carrer de la Riera Baixa is where you find the most shops, and the above pictures are all from that street. At LAiLo they can proudly present an impressive selection of leather jackets, ancient opera costumes and Balenciaga shoes from a lost time. The owner seems to really care for each garment, as she gave me a detailed speech on how to take care of my newly acquired leather jacket (we're talking the kind of shiny brown leather that feels like sex when you wear it). Apparently, you should wash it once a year with water mixed with a liiiiiittle bit of ... milk?

When I looked on the internet, Exodus was the first place to come up. Located in a completely different part of town, but full of hidden treasures (hidden in piles, that is). The owner is this completely bad-ass awesome person that makes burlap bags mixed with old materials. The inside of the shop is rather chaotic, but they still manage to fit a sewing machine in a corner.
The best thing about this place is that the mirror is placed on the street, meaning that if you want to try something on, you'd better get used to considering the street your catwalk.

And they help you fit into it! Ah ah!
